Ben Eine is a British street artist known for his alphabet lettering on shop shutters in London’s Shoreditch, Brick Lane and Broadway Market areas.

Beginning his career in the 80s as a writer – in the guise of a graffiti artist who creates tags, signatures and words on walls – Eine introduced a unique approach to graffiti by using giant versions of print fonts instead of the bubble and wildstyle lettering that’s ubiquitously associated with graffiti art; he replicates this style in limited edition prints such as Tenderloin. It’s not only his murals that have travelled; his paintings, both originals and Ben Eine prints, have appeared for sale in major galleries in the US and UK, including his first solo show in New York at the Judith and Charles gallery, and a solo exhibition at San Francisco’s White Walls gallery, which sold out before the show even opened.
