Next month, Sotheby’s London will sell three artworks by Francis Bacon and nine by Andy Warhol in a contemporary art auction of 59 lots, which will also feature David Hockney, Lucian Freud and Gerhard Richter.
All lots are on exhibit now until next week, when the evening sale will open to fans and collectors of contemporary art.
Works by Francis Bacon, such as Pope 1 for example, currently holds an estimate of £25 million – £35 million, for those with pockets deep enough, an outstanding addition to any collection. Also available, One Dollar Bill by Andy Warhol, estimated at between £13 million and £18 million.
It is also possible to acquire, for a more modest sum, Warhol’s Dollar Bills estimated at between £120,000 and £180,000.
