Liberty (red) is a signed screen print by street artist, Stik. Released in 2013 in an edition of 25, this print was inspired by a mural of the same name by the artist in New York City. Liberty (red) is printed in white, red, and black and depicts a stick figure with one arm extended, emulating the Statue of Liberty herself.
Liberty combines Stik's characteristic six-line stickman with a keen sense of geography to create a visually arresting piece. Although the work's obvious connection is with the Statue of Liberty, the renowned landmark that Stik's figure evokes in its posture, the piece also has a more particular resonance that is tied to its specific location.
