About Center For Art Conservation

The Center for Art Conservation, nestled in the vibrant Expo Park neighborhood of Dallas, TX, is dedicated to the meticulous care and preservation of paper-based artifacts. Established in 2007 by Tish Brewer, who brings a unique blend of academic and practical expertise with degrees in studio art, chemistry, and paper conservation from Hendrix College and the University of Texas at Austin, the Center has become a beacon of excellence in the field of art conservation.

Specialising in a wide range of paper materials including works of art, prints, maps, historical documents, posters, and manuscripts, the Center is committed to extending the life of these valuable pieces through both stabilisation and restoration processes. Beyond direct treatment, the Center for Art Conservation provides essential consultation services, assisting in the development and implementation of preventative care policies to safeguard cultural heritage against future deterioration.

Brewer’s extensive background is complemented by her global training and research, including stints at the National Preserve of Tauric Chersonesos in Ukraine and the Biblioteca Ludwig von Mises in Guatemala. Through these experiences, she has acquired a deep understanding of paper conservation challenges and solutions, making the Center an indispensable resource for collectors, institutions, and anyone dedicated to preserving the integrity and legacy of paper-based art and historical documents.
