This lithograph was created by Tracey Emin in 2014 and sits in the Nude Self-Portraits collection. At the centre of the work, Emin’s nude figure rests along the length of the composition on a bed, with the pillows defined by simple straight lines above the head of the figure. Framing the right-hand side of her figure is a painterly wash of blue ink, which accentuates the womanly curvature of her body.
Since her rise to fame in the 1990s, Emin’s main source of inspiration and primary subject has been none other than herself. Her work, which has often been labelled as “confessional”, is almost an autobiography, charting her ever-changing perception of self as she uses her art to confront reality.
More Of You is another intensely personal view into Emin’s world. Unlike the more scratchy Nude Self-Portraits created earlier in her career, this work is fluidly executed and reveals an appreciation for her womanly form as she has matured. The enveloping wash of blue ink to the right of her nude figure pronounces the curvature of her hips and abdomen, and seems to extend her sultry spirit beyond her physical body. Intimately touching her thigh, More Of You is a work about love and longing, and presents Emin’s relationship with her desires.
