103 x 70cm, Edition of 50, Woodcut

LUV is part of Harland Miller's Letter Paintings series, focusing on language as both form and subject. Set against a vibrant background, the composition features large, overlapping letters in varying shades of red, pink, and purple, their saturated tones bleeding slightly into one another.
In LUV, Miller continues his examination of how language can operate visually, not just semantically. The bold typography and limited palette draw attention to rhythm, weight, and repetition rather than literal meaning. While the title evokes something immediate and emotive, its presentation feels deliberate and detached, inviting a slower, more reflective reading. First shown as part of a 2019 exhibition at White Cube Hong Kong, this series approaches text as image - distilled, abstracted, and open-ended.
