Banksy's Agile screenprint, a limited edition of 50, was released in 2022 to raise funds for the Legacy of War Foundation's Ukraine Crisis Response. The print features a falling mouse that scratches out the first two letters of "FRAGILE" as a tribute to Ukraine's resilience amidst the ongoing conflict.
As with much of Banksy's work, the print offers multiple interpretations simultaneously. Banksy's latest work features a rat, symbolizing the defiant nature of the little people, while the shipping label "FRAGILE" makes a clear statement about Ukraine's infrastructure. The falling mouse adds a layer of poignancy, as it seems to be both in a desperate situation and an escapee, challenging stereotypes of victims of war. Despite being in freefall, the mouse claws at the label, editing it to read “AGILE”, symbolizing Ukraine's spirit in the face of ongoing war.
